No Pretense With God

Human's really put on a show;
Dress properly, and act just right.
But inside that very person,
God sees quite a different sight.
God sees the times of our failures.
He knows every small, pet sin.
He wants us clean on the outside;
But He's pained as He looks deep within.
God often sees a jealous heart,
Or an unforgiving spirit within;
A heart that is filled with hatred,
And a tongue that lashes at kin.
We can never clean our heart alone;
Satan is too crafty for that.
We want to hold on to our own ways.
When we work at it, Satan's at bat.
When we give the battle to Christ, our King;
He helps us unload all those weights.
He cleanses and cleans each little nook,
Only He can change our fate.
There's hope in the blood of Jesus,
He died for all of our sin.
His touch is still a miracle,
As He cleanses us within.
We're no longer whited sepulchres,
Filled to the brim with hypocrisy.
We're filled completely with God's love,
A testimony for all to see.
Matthew 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
