Genesis 9:13-16 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. 14And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: 15And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
As I read this Scripture, my heart was stirred when I thought about God looking at the rainbow the same time that I am looking at the rainbow. I know He has His eye on me at all times, but just the thought of His eyes upon the rainbow the same time as mine, both remembering His promise, and recalling many promises that He has made and always kept. What a thrill to see the beauty of the rainbow, still there in the clouds proclaiming the greatness of God, every since God placed it there as an encouragement to Noah. What wonderful handiwork of God.
There's a splendor about the rainbow
Of which, I had never thought.
When I'm gazing at the rainbow
God's eyes are upon what He wrought.
I think it makes Him happy
When we're enthralled with what we see;
And it thrills my soul completely-
He knows how it thrills me.
I have a calm, deep assurance,
And see each beautiful hue.
I am so thankful to once again,
To be allowed this breathtaking view.
The rainbow is an eternal promise,
To which my adoring soul can cling.
When I meet Him, I will thank Him
For the promises that cause me to sing.
